The Nordlys Flatgrind (FG) is a very different sibling to the standard Nordlys. While the basic shape of the knife is the same, the FG version feels very different. Not only does it have a much thinner blade with a flat grind that means that it excels as a slicer rather than for heavier work, it is much more lightweight. In fact, the Nordlys FG measures in at 67% the weight of the standard version, primarily because of the thinner stock and a skeletonised handle.
Flat grinds on knives are popular because they provide a versatile balance of strength, sharpness and ease of maintenance. In a flat grind, the blade tapers evenly from the spine to the cutting edge, creating a V-shaped cross-section. This design reduces cutting drag, allowing the blade to slice more efficiently through materials like vegetables, meat and wood. Flat grinds also offer a thin edge, which makes them easy to sharpen and maintain.
As a result, the Nordlys FG is more adept at food preparation and other tasks that require fine cuts rather than heavier chores, which the standard Nordlys version excels at. The Nordlys FG stands out as the perfect choice for all those that want a knife for precision cutting.

Shipping Charges
We offer free shipping on orders over £100. Orders under £100 are charged a flat rate of £5.99. Some long, heavy, or oversized items may incur additional shipping costs, which will be clearly shown at checkout.
Dispatch & Delivery Times
Drew personally packs all orders. Please allow up to 2 working days for dispatch. This allows time for order processing, age verification, and maintaining personal customer service standards.
Average delivery is 3–5 working days. Many parcels arrive sooner, but delays may occur if age verification is not completed promptly.

30-Day Returns & Exchanges
Wylie's Outdoor World's owner, Drew, also handles all returns and exchanges personally.
We offer a 30-day (from the date of purchase) return and exchange policy. You may return most new, unopened, unused, and unworn items within 30 days of your order for a refund or exchange. You must contact us within 14 days of delivery to initiate the return process.
Some products (such as used batteries and underwear) are non-returnable. Returned items must be in a resellable, brand-new condition to qualify for a refund or exchange.
How to Request a Return
Log into your account, view your order using the “Complete Orders” link under the My Account menu, and click the “Return Item(s)” button. Indicate whether you’d like a refund or exchange. Drew will confirm and issue instructions (including invoice if exchanging), then await the returned item.
Refund Processing Times
Refunds are typically issued within one week of receiving the returned item.
Please allow 3–5 working days for returns or exchanges to be processed once your item arrives. Most are handled faster, depending on workload.
