A SMALL, OUTDOOR SPECIALIST RETAILER, OWNED BY A PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT TESTER
The GSI Outdoors Glacier Camp Stove weighs 168g and produces 11,000 BTU/h. When you're carrying everything on your back for days, this weight-to-power ratio matters. The 2-minute boil time means you're not standing around in bad weather waiting for water to heat.
The 125mm serrated pot supports actually grip your cookware - this prevents the frustrating moment when your pot slides off mid-cooking on sloped ground. The micro control valve responds smoothly even when your hands are cold and clumsy after a long day hiking. You can dial it down to barely-there heat for rehydrating meals without creating a burnt mess at the bottom of your pot.
This stove screws directly onto gas canisters, keeping the fuel close to your body heat overnight. Cold gas canisters lose pressure and won't light properly - a problem that's caught out many hikers on cold mornings. The wide burner head spreads flame evenly, so you're not getting hot spots that burn food while leaving other areas cold.
Two minutes to boil half a liter sounds fast until you're standing in driving rain trying to get dinner ready. Every second counts when weather turns nasty. The efficient burner design means less fuel wasted heating air instead of your pot - your gas canisters last longer, which matters on multi-day trips where resupply isn't possible.
UK mountains throw everything at you - wind, rain, temperature swings. This stove's low profile means less wind resistance compared to tall remote-canister designs. The stainless steel construction handles the thermal shock of going from a cold pack to hot cooking without warping or cracking.
Gas canisters are sold separately - our isobutane-propane canister selection includes 100g for weekend trips, 230g for week-long adventures.

British weather changes fast. One minute you're cooking in calm conditions, the next you're battling wind and rain. The canister-mount design keeps everything low and stable. The wide burner spreads heat efficiently even when gusts try to blow your flame around. Stainless steel handles the moisture and temperature changes that come with British mountain weather.

100g canisters work for weekend trips, 230g for week-long adventures. Bigger canisters are more fuel-efficient but add weight.
The canister-mount design keeps fuel warm against your body overnight, maintaining pressure better than remote designs in cold conditions.
The serrated pot supports grip cookware securely. Low center of gravity makes it more stable than tall designs.
Depends on usage, but efficient burner design means less fuel wasted heating air instead of your pot.
Works well at UK mountain heights. The efficient burner compensates for reduced air pressure.
Heavier than ultralight options but more stable and powerful. Good balance between weight and performance.
Most solo camping pots work fine. Wider bases transfer heat more efficiently from the burner head.
